JTCHA Owned Land

The Jackson/Teton County Housing Authority currently owns three parcels:

260 West Broadway
This is a commercial property located downtown, was purchased with money from the 2006 Specific Purpose Excise Tax (SPET). It is currently listed for sale.

3590 North Kennel Lane ("Rains Property")
This is a 5-acre property located in the Aspens Complete Neighborhood on Moose-Wilson Road close to mass transit and Teton Village. It was purchased purchased with money from the 2006 Specific Purpose Excise Tax (SPET) for the development of Affordable Housing. At the time of purchase, the Affordable Housing PUD tool existed. A moratorium on PUD-AH development was put in place on May 6, 2008 and the tool was removed by the Board of County Commissioners on March 26, 2010. As it is currently zoned, the property only allows for the development of a single-family home plus a guest house. At their December 2, 2019 meeting, the Board of County Commissioners and Town Council directed and authorized the Housing Authority Board to give the title to this property to Teton County, which means the Board of County Commissioners will decided how the property is developed (or if it's sold). Staff provided the Board with two sets of site plans for potential development on the site.

  • Concept A is 33 units with a mix of single-family cottages, duplexes and fourplexes.

  • Concept B is 26 units with a mix of duplexes and single-family cottages.

430 and 440 West Kelly Ave
At their December 2, 2019 meeting, the Board of County Commissioners and Town Council directed and authorized the Housing Authority Board to give the title to this property to the Town of Jackson, which means the Town Council will decided how the property is developed. Staff anticipates moving forward with this project in January 2020.
